Krista Scott is an Associate Professor in the TCU Theatre Department, a certified Fitzmaurice Voicework instructor and a professional actor, director and voice/dialect coach. She teaches courses in Voice and Speech, Dialects, Acting Shakespeare, Period Styles and others. Her local directing and acting credits include Shakespeare Dallas, Water Tower Theatre, Trinity Shakespeare, Circle Theatre, Stage West, Amphibian Stage and Theatre Arlington, where she won a Column Award for her portrayal of Vivian Bearing in Wit. Regionally she has appeared on the stages of Connecticut Repertory Theatre, Hangar Theatre and Kitchen Theatre in New York, and The New Tradition Theatre Company in St. Cloud, MN, which she co-founded. She has coached voice and dialects at the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, D.C., Shakespeare Dallas, the Illinois Shakespeare Festival, Trinity Shakespeare Festival, the Dallas Theatre Center, Casa Mañana, Connecticut Repertory Theatre, Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, and numerous other companies. Her musical adaptation of A Christmas Carol was produced annually for ten years in St. Cloud, MN and six consecutive years in Chicago. Other playwriting credits include Jack & the Beanstalk, The Consecourse, and a solo performance piece entitled Wilde Women.


Krista is an associate member of the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers, an associate editor for the International Dialects of English Archive (IDEA) website, a former a board member and treasurer of the Voice and Speech Trainers Association (VASTA), and frequent contributor to The Voice and Speech Review. She received a B.F.A. from Emporia State University and an M.F.A. from the University of Minnesota. She has served on the TCU Faculty Senate since 2011.
