GREGORY K. STEPHENS is Associate Professor of Management and Leadership in the Management Department at Texas Christian University. He earned his Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Irvine. He teaches in the graduate and undergraduate programs at TCU. His research has been published in respected scholarly outlets, including such journals as Educational and Psychological Measurement, the Journal of Management, the Journal of Management Studies, Research in Personnel and Human Resources Management, Organizational Dynamics, California Management Review, and the Journal of Health and Human Services Administration. He is also a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Management Inquiry and the Journal of Leadership and Organizational Studies. His current research is focused in two streams, creating value-added return on investment for leadership development in organizations, and exploring the emotional experience of mediators in dispute resolution.
Dr. Stephens is bilingual (English and Spanish), and worked in Chile, South America for two years. He is also a Texas court‑qualified mediator, with advanced training in family and victim/offender mediation. He is the founder of The Banyan Group, which provides business consultations, leadership training, and dispute resolution services. He has worked with numerous client companies, a few of which include Ben E. Keith Foods, Sabre Holdings, United Way, XTO Energy, Williamson-Dickie, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and Burlington Northern & Santa Fe Railroad.
